Letter - DCSD board majority not for community

Regarding the story “Law enforcement investigating DCSD board members over allegations of perjury”:

What Douglas County School Board President Mike Peterson et al don’t want you to know is their prime allegiance isn’t to the Douglas County community. Rather, they kowtow to the Koch network and Colorado’s ultra-conservative think-tanks such Leadership Program of the Rockies, Independence Institute and Mountain States Legal Foundation.

Peterson et al have appeared on Fox News and other right-wing outlets, not because they are stellar public servants; their elevated publicity is the product of the dark-monied Koch Network/Donors Trust influence and propaganda.

Peterson et al accuse Mr. Marshall of frivolous, self-serving lawsuits. What they fail to acknowledge is this — the community and its plain ole citizens have underwritten Marshall’s courageous acts, and we’ll continue to provide our resources.

By the way, Marshall has yet to lose even one suit he’s brought against the county and school district. “Batting 1000,” I guess we’re saying.

Carolyn Williamson, Parker
