Talk about a smear campaign. Recently the official Douglas County Republicans sent out a smear email accusing the Douglas County Democratic Party of creating and circulating a survey to smear Republicans in the primaries.

Why in the world would Democrats get involved in the Republican primary races? It doesn't matter one whit who wins the primary as they are all cookie cutter candidates who espouse the same rhetoric on guns, women's rights and supposed overreach of government. Let's remember that they have not put forth plans or solutions for improving our health, education, or safety. Clamoring for “more guns” does not count as an improvement in any way.

The circulated email infers that the Dems have the time and money to put forth a survey. This is ludicrous. Check out the Dougco Dems Secretary of State TRACER account. We accurately and honestly account for our expenditures and contributions. I suspect this email was to stir up the base and increase contributions to Republicans. If I had to guess, the “survey” came from one of the Republicans trying to smear their primary opponent and give the Douglas County Republican chair some fodder. Do better Republicans, your accusations smack of projection.
