I am a great-grandfather and I don’t want to be standing out in front of a school shooting hoping that my great-grandchildren are safe inside from the gunfire I hear. Let the teachers and professors have a gun stored in a welded down to the floor gun lock box, if they want one to protect their students. Let them bring it to school and lock it up, later take it out when they go home. Posted outside the school should be a sign stating that “Beware, our educators are armed and loaded!”
We need all elected officials in office to do something with the gun laws to help stop these mass killings. Remember, you were elected by the people for the people (not by the NRA for the NRA) and we want new gun control laws now.
I am an unaffiliated voter and according to the Colorado Secretary of State website, there are 1,068,827 Democrats, 856,904 Republicans and 1,699,405 unaffiliated voters in Colorado as of June 1. Don’t bother with one of those empty election statements like “And when I’m elected, I will ...” You are already elected, so get the bills passed and signed before the next election. If you don’t, then I would like all of the unaffiliated voters to not vote for the deadbeat officials and get them out of office.
Everyone reading this could be standing outside a school next time saying how could this happen again and why. Everyday citizens do not need an assault weapon. It only takes one bullet to kill a deer and not a burst of 20 rounds.
