Girls lacrosse: Holy Family moves to second round of state playoffs

Holy Family's girls lacrosse team turned back Eagle Valley 20-11 in the opening round of the state 4A girls lacrosse tournament on the Tigers' field May 10.
Sarah Vail and Julia Hodell scored eight goals apiece for Holy Family. Hodell also registered five assists. Mallory Jimenez scored a pair of goals, and Maggie Garrett and Fiona Snashall added one goal.
Sienna Rinn scored four of the Devils' goals. CJ Yurcak added three, and Sidney Collett scored two goals.
The win sends the Tigers into the second round and a match at top-seeded Evergreen High School. It's set for a 6 p.m. start Thursday, May 12.
